BEHIND THE MUSIC OF BEN B. GOSS

Hi, I’m Ben B. Goss, a New York City–based Film and TV composer.

Rooted in a mixed cultural background, I began my journey as a classically trained clarinetist and composer, and over time expanded my musical language far beyond the concert hall — into the world of film, storytelling, and sound.

With classical training on clarinet and studies in film scoring at Berklee College of Music, I blend musical discipline with cinematic understanding.

Years of composing, studying, and collaborating have shaped my ability to balance aesthetics with emotional precision — allowing me to write for a wide range of genres including action, drama, comedy, horror, mystery, science fiction, adventure, and romance.

As a teenager, I spent countless hours in movie theaters, studying great directors and absorbing the scores of Hans Zimmer, Henry Mancini, John Williams, and Jerry Goldsmith — the composers who became my creative heroes.

Their influence taught me that film music is more than accompaniment; it’s a language that speaks directly to the heart.

My approach to scoring combines musical craftsmanship with cinematic insight, ensuring a strong creative dialogue with directors and editors.

I believe every great score finds harmony between function — serving the rhythm and structure of the film — and fiction— revealing the unseen emotions and psychology of its characters.

That “invisible vibration” is what makes music unforgettable.

My flexibility across genres and formats has led to inspiring collaborations with filmmakers and producers who share my passion for storytelling through sound.
